Free Maps Ruler

Free Maps Ruler allows you to easily measure the distance and the area between selected points on a map. All you need to do is just add a bunch of points on a map using the red marker button from the top application menu. After that the distance or area calculation is done automatically and the result is displayed in the left top corner. The viewfinder in the middle of the map should help you determine where exactly you are placing the makers. No GPS position acquisition is required, all markers can be added manually. The search option allows you to find any location in the world just by typing its name into the input filed, after that, found location will by directly displayed in the center of the map.

How to measure the distance/area?

Find the location on the map manually (by moving the map and zooming) or use the search option from the top menu. Search option allows you to just type the name of any city, street, landmark etc. in the world and it will be displayed in the center of the map.
Use the red marker form the top menu to add many markers on the map. They may represent your route in case of distance measurement or the boundary of your estate in case of area measurement.
The distance/area calculation result will be displayed in the left top corner of the screen.

Additional features

If you press the Settings button you can customize the application behavior.
From the Settings menu you can change the type of measurement – area/distance.
You can change also the metric system: meters/miles.
You can change the map type: hybrid (satellite image with street names)/satellite/road.
Viewfinder can be turned on/off using the viewfinder button from the top menu.
You can move markers using your finger to adjust them to a specific position.
You can tap on each marker to see the details.
You can remove each marker in marker details window.
The last location search result will be displayed at the next application startup.

Area Meter

Area Meter allows you to calculate the area of a selected region. You just need to select a few locations in order to define the region using GPS. You need to have Internet connection enabled. The region will be displayed on the map and the area calculation will be done automatically.

How to read the area?

Move to your start position and press “Start point” button. You should see a marker on the map with your current position.
Proceed to your next location and press “Next point” button. Another marker should be placed on the map, which illustrates your second position.
Insert as many markers as you need.
Press “Get area” button to have the area calculation result under the button with a red polygon that marks it on the map.

Additional features

You can move markers using your finger to adjust them to a specific position.
You can tap on each marker to see the details.
You can remove each marker in marker details window.

Crime Locator

Crime Locator is a Samsung bada application that is based on Police UK API. This means that the user can inspect crime scene locations across England and Wales. Having this information everyone can easily decide where to park a car or whether or not to wall across a park. Application was released on Samsung bada platform in UK on 22nd November 2011. Current version works on bada OS 1.2+.

Functionalities

User is able to find crime scene locations near him using GPS receiver and data uplink.
One can get the crime scenes number for current location.
Crime scenes data are updated while user travels along with his smart phone thanks to GPS and data uplink.

Further development plans

Release application on bada OS 1.0 and 1.1
Use more features from Police UK API, for instance to distinguish different crime types.
Give user the ability to switch off automatic update mode and go to manual mode in order to select location of crimes on his own.

Free Distance Meter / Distance Meter

Free Distance Meter allows you to find the shortest distance between many locations while you drive a car or walk. You just need to select a few locations using GPS and have Internet connection enabled. The locations will be displayed on the map and the distance calculation will be done automatically.
